Klaviyo Lists are static – a user is added to a list, and will not be removed from it unless a Klaviyo account administrator removes them from that List.

A Klaviyo Segment however  is dynamic – a subscriber will automatically be moved into a Segment based on site criteria. For example, user’s who bought product X in the last 30 days Segment will change based on customers’ buying history and how much time has passed.

You can convert a Klaviyo Segment into a
Klaviyo List, but the other way around does not work. You can manually recreate the Segment after converting it into a list, but we recommend using an option in Klaviyo called the Snapshot feature.

This can really get quite complicated, so we recommend having an expert help you convert Lists or Segments, to ensure it’s done without loosing any of the value you already have in them.
